Marcia Meier is a longtime writer and executive director of the Santa Barbara Writers Conference. She worked for four daily newspapers from 1978-95 as reporter, copy editor, assistant city editor and editorial page editor, and has freelanced for numerous publications, including the Los Angeles Times, Santa Barbara Magazine, Central Coast Magazine, and OC Metro magazine. She also blogs for The Huffington Post and at redroom.com, where she is a featured author. Meier is the author of Santa Barbara, Paradise on the Pacific, recently signed a contract to write a book on publishing trends, and is at work on a memoir.
